Arrived in Ohio May 29th

Hello from Ohio!

May 29th We arrived in Harmony, Ohio just east of Springfield (about 40 miles from Columbus) where we stayed at Tomorrows Stars, one of our network campgrounds.

The next morning Ryan, Carol's son, came out to help unload the radial arm saw he inherited from his grandfather, which Carol had brought for him from Key West. Wow! There's a lot more room for everything else now! We took the saw and some things Carol had been hauling around for several years and didn't use, to Ryan's home for storage.

On Sunday, May 31st we went to Wright Patterson Air Force Museum. Bruce's brother and sister-in-law, their daughter, and Bruce's father and sister and her son joined us for an interesting morning there. The Museum is an amazing place - HUGE!

On Tuesday, June 2nd, Bruce rode his scooter to Ada, about 85 miles, to see his family and some childhood friends.

He started in a short sleeve shirt, but ended in a jacket and it turned into a 2 night stay due to the rainy Ohio weather. He returned early in the morning on Thursday in 56F weather, and had to stop part way to "thaw out"! Too long in Florida!! Unfortunately he also brought home a whopper of a head cold which of course he shared with Carol!

After spending 7 nights in Springfield, we moved on Friday up to Delaware, Ohio which is just on the northern edge of Columbus. This is a great location for visiting Carol's friends and family in the area. We had a great weekend ride and overnight stay in Fredericktown with Cheryl and Michael Church. Cheryl and Carol have been friends for 40 years! Their 10 acre spread includes 4 horses and an indoor arena, a pony, many cats, and two dogs , one of which weighs in at over 125 pounds and seems more like a bear!

We rode both bikes up to Ada on Tuesday for another visit and so Bruce could show Carol his home town and his siter Leslie's gardens. We were able to stop in for a therapeutic massage before riding back! It was about 160 miles roundtrip through the Ohio countryside.

The next night we had dinner with Bruce's daughter Tami and his granddaughter Heather. They took time out from their unpacking and arranging in their new home.

PHEW! It's been a whirlwind of meeting new friends and family, and more to come this weekend! Megan, Carol's daughter, and her boyfriend Julien are flying in from LA for the weekend, and Carol's friends Pete and Barb (from Maryland) will meet us for breakfast Sunday morning - they just happen to be in Columbus visiting Barb's mother! What a life! Bruce doesn't think this is as relaxing as he thought it might be!

We'll have to let you know how we survive the next couple of weeks in PA when we're staying with friends while the camper is in at the dealer for it's annual checkup. On the 29th, we'll be heading to New England! Stay Tuned!!
